But I don't want to- do anything stupid while I'm still...not stupid, I don't mean stupid. Living with Stel isn't gonna last much longer, that much I know.

But dragging you or anybody into something that even I don't know how to control yet is stupid.

That doesn't make any sense. Honestly, I like you... a lot. But until I sort myself out I should probably hold off with the flirting right now.

You can flirt all you like. I tend to flirt when I'm in a good mood, too, so it's possible that I've been flirting with you, too. Just a little.

The thing is... well, you need to understand that I really am an emotional basketcase half the time. I bring my own dose of extremely stupid with me wherever I go. I haven't even told you about the ghost yet. I really don't have a clue about how to be happy the way I am right now. At least, not most of the time.

So sort out your life and talk to me here and then we'll think about flattery and stuff later.

I guess I'm happy the most these days when I'm cooking for someone. Anything that helps me feel less lonely is good. I really had a nice evening with Ray when he was in town. Do you dance?

I prefer to call him Stanley but I'm not going to tell you what to call him. I guess I just like to differentiate between us without having to write 'the other' all the time. Anyway, Stanley suits him. *smiles*

Latin, that sounds ... very, very fun. Yeah, ballroom but I'll try anything. Having to dance with my aunts when I was kid did nothing for my rep at the time but it sured helped with the ladies later on in life.

I didn't accomplish much today. Just one of those days. I spent too long in a meeting.

I miss summer already.

Suddenly I have a yearning to see Carnaval.

Meetings. *smiles* Fortunately, they aren't things I've really had to endure. Now cop conventions, those are hell.

Winter's not bad, from what I can remember of them.

Bowling alley's the bowling alley. It's still open. After uh, I hired a manager after, you know... and she's terrific so I'm sure it's in safe hands. I feel kinda bad about selling it since she's going to be out of a job. Maybe I should give her a belated bonus or something 'cos she was pretty much running it on her own during the summer. But yeah, I'm having some prelim contracts drawn up as we speak so it shouldn't be around much longer.

Well, Carnavbal's in Brazil and I have no plans to go back there anytime soon. But a dance? I'm in New York.

I'm not sure what to make of winter. Last year was the first year I ever lived anywhere that got snow and New York got a ton of it. It was fun, but I hurt my shoulder again because I shouldn't have gone out to play in it right after the skiing accident.

It seemed like a good idea at the time.

Maybe the new owner will keep the manager on. You can always put in a good word for her.

Yeah, I thought about putting a clause in the contract saying that she comes with the business but my lawyer said it'd make it harder to shift the place. I'm gonna leave her one hell of a reference though.

I made a snowman! My first! And I fell off a big pile of snow in the park, that's how I hurt my shoulder again. It was dumb.

That's good of you. I can't imagine it's easy to manage a bowling alley. I wouldn't know where to begin.
