Pups
- Ray Vecchio (due South)
- Bob Fraser (due South)
- Maggie Fraser (due South)
- Harding Welsh (due South)
- Jack Huey (due South)
- Ray Kowalski (due South)
Fic characters I've written (not included in pup list)
- Tom Dewey (due South)
I would include people from my RPF fics I've written but I don't think anyone has read them XD Uh, did some Jcck Sparrow stuff too but the same applies. *looks at list* Wow, I really need a new fandom...
Also? I might not answer question number 5 (especially with RayV) because it would take me an age to find a single paragraph and I don't want to still be answering this in a year to come.
That is....if anyone requests anything...because you might not, so this is unnecessary...but if anyone does...then, yeah. I'm gonna go over here now...

I'm not gonna answer with "He's Bob," although that would probably more than suffice. He's just totally insane, in an utterly sane way. He's not out of his mind, or kooky crazy. He's just a dead guy who's used to doing things the "Mountie" way. He tells stories and anecdotes about him and Buck, his time in Canada, his marriage to Caroline no matter what situation Ben is in, because that's all he's known. Doesn't matter that they're in Chicago, and there aren't any caribou around, he's going to tell the story anyway because a) he likes talking about things he knows about- it makes him seem clever! And b) he thinks he's helping. Everything he does or say is with the aim of helping his son, even if that's not the end result! And most of the time, he doesn't realise that his advice is completely unnecessary. But that's him :D He's how I imagine Ben will be like when he's Bob's age. Totally. The parallels are there from the beginning! Bob/Buck, Fraser/Ray. Story telling. Mounties always getting their man! Can't fight it, Benton-buddy.
02. One of his/her best traits
His dress sense! XD Nah, the fact that all he really wants is the best for his son. And wants him to be happy with who he is. Happier than he was. And he doesn't want to watch Benton make the same mistakes as he did. He's there to watch over his son and he'll do the best damn job of it he can.
03. One of his/her worst traits
His dress sense! XD The fact that he has absolutely no shame? And doesn't know when to butt out. And even speaking directly to him and spelling things out to him, won't always get the message across.
04. How easy/difficult I find it to write the character
Very easy. He's the easiest muse I have. The only thing I sometimes, and only sometimes, mind you, have a problem with is trying to balance out "kooky!Bob" with "serious!Bob." Because as much as he's an insane little ghost in the show, he does have his moments when Ben actually listens to him. My Bob seems to think the internet isn't the place for D+M thinking though. So most of the time, you get the krayzee Mowntee!
05. The story/chapter/paragraph/phrase where I feel that I truly captured the character
Uh... Find the Way!(c) Short but sweet! XD Either that, or BE THE MALE SEAHORSE! Since I haven't really written entries with him, I'd have to say some of his conversations with RayK about closets/seahorses/sturdy tables/wide hips were some of my favorites. And the "Fraser tells his dad he's gay and Bob thinks his son has erectile problems!" thing is just....love. So yes! Trule captured his character there, hahaha XD
Oh! And his behavior at the wedding. Top notch!
06. My plans (if any) to write the character in the near future.
I have actually been thinking about writing something about his time in Rome too. Because of course Fraser and RayK wanted him to go along with them. It was so obvious, they didn't even need to ask!
And...he still wants grandchildren...s'all I'll say...

YES. Those threads are my absolute favorite things to read. EVER. So very, very Bob. I'd feel bad for Kowalski, but it's just too funny XD

YAY! We're here for your personal entertainment! I feel sorry for anyone and anything that looks like either Fraser or RayK. I get the feeling Bob should have worn glasses when he was alive...

Date: 2007-09-13 08:26 pm (UTC)Uh, RayK was already taken in
I originally decided to RP with the intention of getting myself a luscious Kowalski muse! I studied
Why I fell in love with him, and went ahead with playing him is...hmm, hard to answer. I love his family, his innate Italian-ness, his loyalty, his snark, the fact he's so very very street smart (especially compared to Fraser), you get the impression that he's lived. He's not just a character who has a life on-screen, you can tell he's seen things, done things in his past that have shaped him into the man he is now. His father for one, Frank Zuko for another. He's quick-witted, very protective, particularly when it comes to Frannie. But at the same time, he can go at it with his sister one second, and then turn all big brother on her the next. He's wise-cracking, heee! He has some GREAT GREAT lines! He likes to think he's macho. I love his cynicism, they way he has so little faith in others because he's been let down before. And the writers don't even have to say "this man is cynical because he's been let down before" - it's all just there, a part of him. He sees scams at every turn, angles he could take, I love how he can be upholding the law at the same time as he's bending the rules. But his ultimate goal is always one of good. And he underestimates himself. Even if on the outside he doesn't show it. I think he unconsciously tries to make up for it by being arrogant and sometimes, it's too much. He feels his emotions, and I don't think that's just down to him being Italian. But he can be reserved in showing them. He'll show his love, or his hate, or whatever he's feeling, when he needs to. And he'll only be himself with people he's completely comfortable with. I adore that.
02. One of his/her best traits
His loyalty. His fashion sense! Man, my muses are the best dressers ever! The fact he'll stand by a friend no matter what, and will risk his life, or his job, or his house (sometimes all three!) for said friend. And once he loves you, he doesn't ever stop.
03. One of his/her worst traits
His insecurity. But I don't believe that's his fault. *blames Pop Vecchio* And it can quickly lead to him doing or saying things he regrets afterwards. If he's feeling defensive, he won't hold back with making any digs. He'll bring the insults and he'll bring 'em good. Uh, like when he meets Kowalski for the first time! But, in his defense, he does know what's fair and what's not.
Damn thing is too long to post all in one go! XD

Date: 2007-09-13 10:20 pm (UTC)And.. wow. Your whole paragraph on why you love him is just PERFECT. I kinda want to make everyone I know read it. XD Just reading it makes me want to rewatch everything. ::loves him::

Date: 2007-09-13 08:27 pm (UTC)It changes. I usually get my best ideas (for prompts and ficlettes) when I'm away from him and the computer. When I'm just commenting back and forth, it's touch and go. He can be real easy to write sometimes, and at other times, I'll regret what I've written the second I've hit 'comment'. Funnily enough, the hardest people I find to simply comment back and forth with are Fraser and Kowalski. Fraser's probably the hardest. And Ray is so sarcastic sometimes, or playful, or mock-serious, but it doesn't always come across on screen. It's hard writing a muse who doesn't always say what he means when he's not feeling totally secure! Grrr! And with Fraser and Kowalski, he doesn't feel that all that time. Damn insecurities.
Saying that, he's definitely easier to write now that he was at the beginning of the year! So yay!
05. The story/chapter/paragraph/phrase where I feel that I truly captured the character
Oy...Lemme have a look back through his journal and I'll answer this once I find something I'm happy with! :D
06. My plans (if any) to write the character in the near future.
Uh, I still have the death!fic to finish. But that doesn't affect RP!Ray. Um, I think he's had too easy a time in MOB CITY Chicago! I'm sure someone would have spotted 'Langoustni' walking around with a cop badge by now...
Hmm. In the near future...I don't actually know XD I was planning to get him shot some time ago but now I'm not so sure about that. I'll have a think... I have a Ren/Ray fic I want to write. The only thing in the near future that I, alone, can control is my Gee!fic! Ray + gun + Gee...! *zips lips*
:D

Deathfic?! :O And.. and.. shot?? But not shot and KILLED, right? Right?? I am terrorstricken!
Awww, Gee.

Date: 2007-09-12 01:56 pm (UTC)01. What initially prompted me to like the character enough to write about him/her
He's in a league all of his own! And he's the only guy the two Ray's really look up to/follow orders from. And as much as he doesn't understand how !a Mountie fits into this" he's willing to go along with it because he believes in his men. And he sticks up for them through thick and thin, come hell or high water. And he'll let no-one doubt their ability, even if he himself says he does almost every day XD Also? He has some of the best lines in the show!!
"The handling of this case is uh, reaching new heights of futility."
He's sarcastic, but not Vecchio!sarcastic and he knows how to command his men. The fact he has very little back story (apart from Dr Longball, and we know he had/has a wife) also attracted me to him!
02. One of his/her best traits
Knows how to make the best damn sandwiches in the Greater Chicago area! Stands by his men.
03. One of his/her worst traits
Exercising in Lycra...? Sometimes he's forced to stick to the rules. But I don't suppose that's his fault. Hmm, worst trait...that's a toughie. Not letting me go through with the phony insurance claim!!!!!!!!!! Ray, get back in my head.
04. How easy/difficult I find it to write the character
Hard, Very very hard. Maybe the hardest one I have? Him and Maggie. That might be because I haven't had much practise writing them though. Because a certain cop takes up most of my RP time. *kicks Ray*
05. The story/chapter/paragraph/phrase where I feel that I truly captured the character
I don't think I have truly captured his character yet. :(
06. My plans (if any) to write the character in the near future.
Now he's getting fit (!) he might have a shot with Frannie... If I ever have time to write him, that is. I guess he, Maggie and Huey will be the first pups to suffer when I leave so I probably shouldn't be making plans for them.

Date: 2007-09-12 02:10 pm (UTC)01. What initially prompted me to like the character enough to write about him/her
Simple answer?
02. One of his/her best traits
He can make a joke out of almost anything. He's not as childish as everybody thinks he is and he'll readily let someone underestimate him. Least then he gets to sit back and watch it come back and bite them in the ass.
03. One of his/her worst traits
Has a hard time being serious. He has to let his feelings show in a way he's entirely comfortable with and if that means insulting somebody before he kisses them, then so be it.
04. How easy/difficult I find it to write the character
Easy. When I'm writing him with RayV anyway. I rarely had any problems with him.
05. The story/chapter/paragraph/phrase where I feel that I truly captured the character
Gosh. Magic fic, I guess. With the Nesquik Magic Straws! I quite liked stressedout!Dewey in the mens room. Or the closet one...hmm. I dunno!
Uh... "Vecc off!" There. I chose something XD
06. My plans (if any) to write the character in the near future.
Nooooo idea. It's doubtful I'll ever write him again unless I get an idea that will just not leave my head.
