Ray came in without really even noticing. Five days back at work and he was already practically asleep on his feet. Seemed like the precinct just didn’t work right without him. When he’d talked to the guys they told him it’d been deadly quiet whilst he was away. Triple homicide as soon as he set his fine Italian leather clad toes through the door did not constitute deadly quiet. More deadly dead than anything. Welsh put four of his best men on the job which means he and Kowalski were having to work with the Duck Boys. Ray had nothing major against their policing skills but their lunch skills left more than a little something to be desired. Those guys put the cliché into cops and donuts.

( So five days back at the station and he was sleep working and sleeping driving and now, apparently, sleep walking right into Turnbull’s apartment without even knocking. He didn’t even remember using the key, so he made a lame attempt at a mental note to give Ren a talking to about safety in America’s Windy and Crime-Infested City.  )
