r_vecchio: ([Ray] Windows To The Soul)

Annoying the crap outta people everyday has very little affect on Ray's conscience. Being in the same city, working in the same station, living in the same house as them, means it's easy for Ray to smooth things over with the people he cares about pretty quickly, when he wants to, which is why his conscience probably suffers well below the national average.

Why Asher had to go and screw that up, Ray doesn't know. All he does know is that his conscience is taking a battering and it's guilt that holds the bloody bat.

And the longer he leaves it, the worse it gets, but godammit, he was in the right!

Almost!

It was a simple whodunnit. Asher Talos, with his fangs, in the conservatory. Vamp bite? Blame the vamp. Badda bing. Jigsaw solved. Onto next level, please accuse your...'friend' as you pass Go.

Eugh euuuuuggghhh.

Do NOT COLLECT $200.

Asher may toss out the odd (and so far, idle) threat far less than he does the innuendo, but on this, he was right - he'd never menanced when it came to Turnbull. Ray should have known that. Jumping to assumptions was a rookie mistake. But cop instinct, gut instinct, all went out the proverbial window when it was Ren's wounded neck Ray was staring at.

All counts of jealousy shall be denied. Desire for vengeance shall not.

So off Ray went, verbally cuffing the suspect without proper evidence. He had the means, sure. But with misguided motive and Asher not claiming responsibility like Ray thought he would have? No, no, no, this jigsaw was far from finished.

Which leaves Ray in a sticky situation. Not being in New York, not working at the Tower, whatever the hell that is, not living with the pony, well, not so easy to salve that conscience now. And despite himself, salving it isn't top of his to-do list. Apologizing, even if that is the devil, is. Apologizing and maybe getting something more than a simple "Fuck you" from the guy.

You know, you let a vampire turn you on and they make you pay and pay and pay...

Which is why, Ray decides rather proudly, he's going to resort to an age old friend to help win the vampire back.

Fed Ex.

He leaves the return address as the post office he sends the package from. Chicago might be a giveaway but who knows, maybe Asher's a secret e-bay fanatic and is expecting his...Friends Official 2008 calendar right about now. It's plausible. The only thing he does do, is scribble: and would you look at that? no hoofed animals on the inside bottom the big cardboard box, 'cause if Asher burns that, no harm done. He has to have taken all of the stuff out first to be able to read it anyway.

Ray packs it backwards so the first thing to go in is the last to come out. Stuffing the box with little styrene balls isn't fun but Ray endures it. Why, he'll never know.

The last thing in, first thing out.

and so to your lungs, I apologize. But, serisously, I want you to know that I'm sorry. And I hope...

And because, hey, I'm a slick dresser, you know it, pal, I give you...

Neat, huh? Black. Thought you could stick it under a suit, it'd look pretty good.

Ray

The running commentary he writes in a card, which he makes sure to laminate (so it's too tough to burn or cut apart) and sticks it in below the gifts. Asher will have to work out for himself, which part goes with what.

Front )

It might very well be the most embarrassing picture he has of himself, that's still in existence anyway, but he figures, if Asher still reads it with that on the front, it can only be a good sign.

That done, he picks up a smaller box*, already sealed up and packs that right at the bottom, so it has to be last to be opened. On top of that lays the card in an unmarked enveloped, and then the rest goes inside. A few minutes later, and several hundred polystyrene balls strewn across the floor, Ray's mouth finally stops running on cuss words and it's all taped up.

Don't ask Ray how any of his stuff gets there with an address like that.

Postage costs a bomb but Ray pays it anyway. When you've already sent a pony and a Zonkey across the States, a package really isn't that much. Fed Ex collects it on Saturday with a guarantee it'll be there Monday. Ray leaves the Post Office and heads straight back to work, since there's not much else he can do but wait.

(ooc: Links!

-Electronic Bubble Wrap! For when Asher's in that hazy grey area: not too annoyed to snap a bitch's neck, but annoyed enough inside to start to need to de-stress. Watch the video, I dare ya. XD

- Cigarette Lighter I kinda wish I smoked now, just to have one of these...

- Horsey Hoppers! No hooves! The yellow one is called Asher, the red one he can name himself.

- Wifi-Detector t-Shirt Because.

I think that's all. :D)

Dooomaahhh

Your view on yourself:

Other people find you very interesting, but you are really hiding your true self. Your friends love you because you are a good listener. They'll probably still love you if you learn to be yourself with them.

The type of girlfriend/boyfriend you are looking for:

You are not looking merely for a girl/boyfriend - you are looking for your life partner. Perhaps you should be more open-minded about who you spend time with. The person you are looking for might hide their charm under their exterior.

Your readiness to commit to a relationship:

You are ready to commit as soon as you meet the right person. And you believe you will pretty much know as soon as you meet that person.

The seriousness of your love:

You like to flirt and behave seductively. The opposite sex finds this very attractive, and that's why you'll always have admirers hanging off your arms. But how serious are you about choosing someone to be in a relationship with?

Your views on education:

You may not like to study but you have many practical ideas. You listen to your own instincts and tend to follow your heart, so you will probably end up with an unusual job.

The right job for you:

You're a practical person and will choose a secure job with a steady income. Knowing what you like to do is important. Find a regular job doing just that and you'll be set for life.

How do you view success:

You are afraid of failure and scared to have a go at the career you would like to have in case you don't succeed. Don't give up when you haven't yet even started! Be courageous.

What are you most afraid of:

You are afraid of having no one to rely on in times of trouble. You don't ever want to be unable to take care of yourself. Independence is important to you.

Who is your true self:

You are full of energy and confidence. You are unpredictable, with moods changing as quickly as an ocean. You might occasionally be calm and still, but never for long.

Yeah, whatever.
