TM #167: Disappointment or disillusion

Not everything slows down after the burst of the bullet. Ray’s standing there, just watching as Benny falls to the platform. And the train is speeding away and Ray can’t move a goddamn muscle as Fraser’s body fucking bounces before coming to an awkward rest. And Ray’s stuck in this jelly bubble where he’s trying to move, close some space between him and Fraser and everything in front of him is passing like normal, except nothing is normal.

 

( And the only coherent thought in Ray’s head is that he’s just killed a fucking superhero. )
