Eeeeeeeee!
I'm so happy! I got into Oxford University! OMG!
I received my letter this morning. Apparently, it came at about 8am but I sooooo wasn't up yet so my mum came and told me at about 10am, when she knew I was awake. I literally jumped out of bed and I could feel my heart pounding. It was so scary. I ran downstairs and saw the letter and I knew it was either a yes or a no, and nothing in between. My mum wanted me to wait until she was downstairs to open it but I kinda said/yelled quietly that I didn't want anyone near me when I read it. There's no way I could open a letter like that in front of people. 'Cause if I hadn't have got in, then I would've been really sad and I wouldn't have wanted anyone to see that.
So I stood in the kitcen, in my pyjamas, hehehe, and I carefully opened the letter. I saw "offer", "English" and "2007" first so I didn't know what to think. Then I pulled it out all the way and it started off by saying "I am pleased..." That's about when I started to scream...
I had applied to Christ Church College, there are about 35 (ish) colleges that make up Oxford Uni and I was aware that sometimes, if you're offered a place, you don't get it at your first choice college. Luckily, I did, yay, so next year I'll be there as an undergraduate! Never EVER thought this would happen. At one point I wasn't even going to bother applying. Last year, I applied to Cambridge for French anf German even though I didn't really wanna study that and I didn't get in. I was down about that, very much so, so I already knew what it'd feel like to not get a place. But I decided to try again, this time for English, which is what I really wanna study and I had nothing to lose by trying. So I did.
And for some reason.... they want me! :) I'm so excited!
So thank you to all those people who wished me luck when I was at the uni for my interviews! It looks like all your good luck messages paid off! Thank you guys!! :D :D :D
