Deep Impact is a thoroughly depressing movie. If you haven't seen it, good for you. Comet, earth, boom, basically. Little boom anyway. I bet Fraser'd be on the pre-selected list; that, or have some fool-proof plan to save all of Greater Chicago with Kowalski's toothpick and a bootlace. I always end up wondering what I'd do if the world was ending in ten days. I get as far as "save the waffle maker" and then, sad as it sounds, I draw a blank. Kind of. So like I said - thoroughly depressing movie. I don't recommend it.

I'm one of those people who makes up her mind about chances when she's faced with them.

Case by case analysis. Sounds like the cop in you.

The one part of me you can always count on.

Self-pity. Better to revel in it with company or alone?

Misery loves company. Isn't that how the saying goes?

Yeah but that doesn't mean they're always right. I mean, Mounties are always meant to get their man but I swear Fraser's arrested chicks too.

That's a little literal there, Vecchio.

Well, maybe literal is the way to go. All this metaphor stuff can't be good for the brain. Too confusing.

Metaphor's use being when you wanna keep guys on their toes, huh?

Sometimes.
